How many times have you been to, or hosted an event, and you see that "Brown-Eyed Girl, what a surprise!" look on the faces of the attendees?
We call that B.E.G. syndrome. It is a symptom of hiring entertainment that is better suited to play at your parents 50th anniversary than an important showcase event, product launch or sales conference.
We play what we like, and it shows
Don't get us wrong, we love Brown-Eyed Girl as much as the next person, but EVERY corporate band plays it, and usually a similar setlist of other songs as well. You know the type - Lady in Red, Sweet Home Alabama. We know this because we have day jobs and attend these kinds of events regularly.
We recognized a real opportunity to differentiate ourselves in a saturated market by actually entertaining, rather than providing background music. Winning over crowds the way we learned through years of playing the notoriously difficult bar scene, playing the music we grew up listening to and the songs that get us jazzed now.
People are always telling us that "You look like we're having a great time while you play". Wanna know a secret, we are, and the excitement is infectious.
Songs people forgot they loved
We are a diverse bunch, and we act as our own focus group in determining what we play. Check out our setlist and you will see what we mean. Have you ever heard Echo & The Bunnymen at a corporate event? Neither had we. The repertoire surprises and excites.
